Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to figure out how to train properly to reach my whole potential, atleast head towards it. I will qualify for the Boston Marathon and run in it within the next 2 years. I want to inspire others and myself with the commitment and hardwork I hope to gain through this lifestyle of running that I plan on emersing myself into.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue improvement of myself and push my boundries. Run some Ultras in the future and be a source of inspiration to myself and others.

Personal:

Hmmm about me. I am single and live in Calgary Alberta. I'm 28 years old (29 in a few days!). I Started running at a late age, March 2015 was my first time running 5km outdoors, and actually training towards something.

This year has really put my fitness lifestyle on turbo. Previously I have only really spent time in the gym, lifting weights, with hardly any cardio. I cant honestly say that I had ever ran more than 3km outdoors, and I always thought the idea of running was silly... to run a race, start moving your feet...and dont stop until the finish line. Boy was I wrong.

Starting in November 2014, I have been involved in a fitness movement called the "November Project" and since about feburary I have actually taken on a leadership role in my community, co-leading these amazing, free, grassroots style bootcamp workouts. In meeting the many people that come to the workouts, the fitness community around me, and the Calgary November project originator Tammara Francis I've been temped to start running and training. The biggest inspiration has come from Tammara. She is a Boston finisher, an amazing athelite, a wonderful human being, and most importantly, a very close and dear friend of mine recently.

So I've started this blog after reading about it in an artical about Amber Green in runners world...about 5 mins ago. And I'm hoping to find a community of people that I can share and experience each others goals, pitfalls, and learnings all together. I mean....Lets not re-invent the wheel here, so many have been on this journey before me and I hope to absorb it all, and hopefully give back in any way as well!
